Getzler Henrich senior director Mark Podgainy discussed the pros and cons of DIP loans in a recent interview by Emily Chasan, a senior editor for CFO Journal.  Mark commented, “You can’t really get through a restructuring without a DIP loan, unless you have a huge pile of cash,” said Mark Podgainy, senior director at corporate turnaround firm Getzler Henrich in New York. “It’s unusual, but if a company can survive until they get to their peak cash cycle, then they can do it.”

Mark has also been quoted in an article on the changing landscape of bookstores written by Steve Schaefer on Forbes.com. The article was entitled “Billionaire John Malone’s Liberty Media Bids For Barnes & Noble.” Mark has also been quoted in a Reuters story by Chelsea Emery on Innskeepers USA filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.


Bill Henrich, co-chairman of Getzler Henrich, authored an article entitled “Dressing Up a Company for Sale”.  It was published by Buyouts magazine, a Reuters publication, which is available by subscription at www.buyouts.com.  Bill is a frequent and sought-after speaker and commentator on issues facing distressed businesses and companies trying to grow.

Getzler Henrich senior director Mark Podgainy was quoted in a story about the changing landscape of bookstores written by Steve Schaefer on Forbes.com.  The article was entitled “Billionaire John Malone’s Liberty Media Bids For Barnes & Noble.”  Mark Podgainy, a senior director at restructuring firm Getzler Henrich, said in a March interview that a rival going bankrupt in the retail space is not the boon it once was. In fact, in a case like Borders and Barnes & Noble, such an event can produce a short-term negative impact, because the failed company “is liquidating their store inventory and undercutting you on price.”
